Sometimes, I wonder why people are so anal about Valentine's Day. I personally think that it is a wonderful day, a day of love.
If the problem lies in the day being too commercialised, then I don't think it should be a problem at all and I see no reason why anyone should come up with anti V-day and scold poor Cupid.
What is not commercialised these days? So we should skip Lunar New Year, Teachers' Day, Children's Day, Christmas and other festivals as well? For heaven's sake, what is the issue with it being too commercialised and refusing to celebrate the day. No one is holding a gun at your head and asking you to buy roses or expensive things for your Valentine. You have a choice in whether to fall into the commercial 'tricks' and blaming it on the occasion is not helping you to feel happy. In any case, if feelings can be replaced or ignored by the need to save a few penny on the day, if Valentine's day is just any other normal day, then wouldn't it be the same on every other day? What happened to the fun?
If the problem lies in not having a Valentine, don't be sore. Be happy for others! A grumpy face scares people away. What did they say about "you never know who is falling in love with your smile"? Eww... saying something cliche is so repulsive.
Have a great Valentine's Day. For those attached, be thankful for your partners. For those unattached, be thankful that you get to see love. For those who just lose your love, hello, you are moving a step closer to the right person! I there no reason to celebrate then? Haha, Happy V-Day!
