It came a bit late, but it is always better late than never. So, Happy 11th Birthday, Taison! The buffet was good and the little host was so shy.

Happy 11th Birthday Taison!

I realised that shopping is not what that makes a person poor. Eating is. Finally got to meet up with Foodie Flo after some time and as the name foodie suggests...
I am left broke :)
Look at the cheese fries from Billy Bombers. Nah, She finished barely half of them. Not convinced? Well, she was saving space for the better. You shall see later.
We spent barely an hour at Raffles City before we trotted happily to Marina Square. And at Marina Square, we spent 6 hours shopping and moving from one shop to another, non-stop. To think I wanted to go to gym after those shopping, I guess there is no reason to.
Shopping. That word is heavenly. Just the thought of it makes my heart beat twice as fast. We went into the Zara, spotted two retro tops and proceeded to try for fun. The effect was hilarious and Flo was like dashing from her changing room to mine so that no one could see her in that ridiculous outfit.

Retro Retro

I can never imagine going to Marina Square without going in there. You guess it right, My sweet potato with different suace each time (My aim in life is to try all the different desserts on the menu) and her mango ice (as usual).

Heaven

Oriental bliss

Custard sauce with sweet potato and softie and Mango Flo's mango ice (REAL mango)

The little 'vat' in her hands was filled with mango sauce, not honey.

I feel good.

It had been sometime since I last relaxed. The Friday set aside just for shopping, with everything all pushed to the back of my head. WER assignment? HUH, I don't even have any dealings remotely related to The three initials. A little sleep and a little more. I need to recover from the shopping trance.

There are a lot of facts, but no truth in the world. Truth exits in its own distorted state, tainting the minds of many by making them see reality through lens of their own biases. Perspective, that trouble-maker. Those who are dressed in the 24/7 protective armour see things from a self-defensive perspective, those that walked around naked see things from the perspective of a wounded. Is there even any right or wrong? Why do people still feel jaded despite understanding this simple but often-casted-into-the-dark-corner theory. Simple. Human. We are born with the damned thing called 'emotions'. There is no right and wrong in the world. Everything boils down to how you deal with a situation and the feelings implicated in the situations. I am being perfectly honest. Wait, does that word even exist?

It is really nice to be chatting with your friends. The heart-to-heart chat where you can unburden all your insecurities and emotional baggage that you drapped over your shoulders. The letting go of the gunny sack that proves to be too heavy for you to drag it any further and freeing those memories and ugly past that you desprately try to shaft inside the sack transcends any level of feeling and enjoyment in this world.

You know that someone would be there for you even if you didn't keep in contact for some time and you feel appreciated. You get thanked for having impact on people's life, your presence gets acknowledged. What can be more precious than that? Genuine sincerity, genuine concern. (Nowadays sincerity has a shift in meaning, you need to add genuine in front to prove your point. )

Friends like that will never blame you for not having the time to meet up with them because they know that meeting up is not a good indicator of friendships. That in itself is very valuable. People that will not misunderstand you or try to shoot at your for every harmless fact that you brought up with, people that face realities of life with you without conforming to the conventional beliefs. My people.

I learnt something new today from my friend.

His wise words: "Even Jesus is not loved by everyone, why should you care?".

I am enlightened.

A full truckload of photos and many others taken that I was too lazy to post up. Yes, more food as well.

Jac and the Naked

Reminds me of Phuket. I want to go back. :(

Foodie and the Naked

Phuket... Phuket...

Yes, Food again. What else to expect? I was with Foodie Flo.

Warm chocolate to die for. I think I will choose that as my last meal on earth. You thought I will say Sashimi? Wrong! Then again, I waited so long because the service at Paragon is SO slow. Maybe I will die before the food comes.

Flo took the chocolate cake this time round. I didn't have the feeling of bliss yesterday. But the scouffle suffice. Not comparable to the warm chocolate cake though. Everytime I type 'warm chocolate cake' my heart just beat faster.

Target spotted. Save. Save.

This week has been pretty relaxing despite the test. That damn test. I wrote till my middle finger swell to the size of a jumbo sausage. 3 long hours. I bet if I wrote a minute more my jumbo sausage will fly out of my hand and hit my lecturer's forehead. The best part? I have no idea what I wrote. I just felt that I have to write somethingto compensate for the lack of knowledge refleted by the blank single lines. I am in trouble. Deep one.

I went for a movie after the test. It wasn't easy to step into theatres again after two lousy movies in a row. Read: My Super Ex Girlfriend and Love Wrecked. I shall not bitch about the movies, they give me goosebumps. Anyway, I caugh Akeelah and the Bee and I love the movie SO much. Catch it. Show your student pass and get $1 off.

I am so tired. Time for breakfast.

What is Success? How do you be successful without feeling successful? Does it even exist? Isn't success the most common cause of failure? How is success the most common form of failure when you don't know what it is? How do you gauge success? Doesn't the definition of success change as time passes by?
When we were really young, success was about mastering numbers and alphabets. Then we went on to scoring A's to determine our success, then we competed on the number of boyfriends, money in your bank account, number of credit cards, position in an organisation, MNCs, results of your kids, grandchildren... It will never end until you die. Perhaps if there were afterlives, the elaboration of funeral? The amount of food taken during Hungry Ghost Festival? There is no end to the quest of being the 'best' and the comparing against others. While we 'succeed' in one part of our lives, we 'failed' in another. SO? Who are we to judge these and how do we judge?
Its the environment. All through our lives we are affected by the values, the norms, the perspectives, the venom ppl pour into our ears, so much so that we cannot think objectively. We were too young to see all these then, too old to prvent any influences now. Even then, we may not block the influences because our emotions are shaped, frozen by the stigma that we should feel a certain way when we meet a certain situation. There is no freezing and unfreezing here. You just freeze and wait for death.
